Starting Oct. 1, parking on or across sidewalks will result in a $250 fine! The city is giving residents a warning period through Sept. 30 to get familiar with the rule.

Remember - even blocking part of a sidewalk can force pedestrians into the street, creating safety hazards for kids, seniors, and people with disabilities.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has gifted more than 300 million books to children, making her literacy impact every bit as extraordinary as her music.

Here at the Delray Beach Public Library, her legacy feels especially close to our hearts. She gave millions of children something truly priceless: books of their very own, and a lifelong love of reading. We will continue to support that important mission each and every day.

Dolly understood the magic that can begin with one book in one child’s hands. We are so grateful for the joy, imagination and opportunity she brought to generations of young readers.

Thank you, Dolly, for helping the world fall in love with reading. 📚❤️

In November 1956, Frances J. Bright and Catherine Strong stood together at the dedication of the Pompey Park pool in Delray Beach.

Nearly 70 years later, this image offers a glimpse into the people, places and milestones that helped shape our community. Preserving photographs like this means preserving the stories behind them, so future generations can understand the history that happened right here in Delray Beach.

Do you remember the Pompey Park pool, or have a family story connected to Pompey Park? We’d love to hear it in the comments.
