Art in the Alley For 15 years Artists paint individual Mural Panels together as a group, install the art, and have a huge Block Party on a Sunday Aft! Art, Music, Food and Fun!

The Public Art can be seen anytime by driving through public alleys in the Osceola Park Neighborhood of Delray Beach! 2ND ANNUAL ART IN THE ALLEY
Neighbors in one of the oldest neighborhoods, Osceola Park, in Delray Beach, are combining art and clean up efforts to revitalize their alleys. February 14, 2012 - James Quillian is at it again, mobilizing neighbors and cleaning up the alleys in Delray B

each’s Osceola Park and adding outdoor local art to the mix. “Osceola Park in Delray Beach is the perfect canvas for Artistic Expression; a neighborhood struggling to be heard, and working to be seen.” says James Quillian. Quillian is leading the 100% grassroots effort to clean up the neighborhood with or without help from the City. The heavy equipment has been brought in, the cleaning, leveling and removing of debris is underway. Neighbors are helping to design sustainable plantings to beautify the alley helping to curb crime and make the alleys and the neighborhood safe. Big thanks to Sharon Koskoff, an artist herself who painted and organized the efforts of more than 20 other local artists who spent hours painting waterproof panels at Kevro’s Art Bar on Sunday February 12th . Kevin Rouse (Kevro) owner of the Art Bar provided the perfect venue to nurture the creative spirit and inspire the community. All of these efforts are leading up to the 2nd Annual Art in the Alley Opening Party which will be held in Osceola Park, Delray Beach, in the alley between SE 3rd and 4th Ave, between 7th and 8th St. on Sunday Feb 19th, 2012 at 4:00PM.

The NARP (Neighborhood Artist in Residency Program) Community Mural Project led by Sharon Koskoff created the 1st Public Mural in Delray Beach entitled the Loves Drug Mural on this site… collaborating with the CRA’s vision for art & culture in our beloved Village by the Sea!!!

The Old School Square Parking Garage demonstrates how infrastructure can serve multiple purposes within a community.

While the project added much-needed public parking in downtown Delray Beach, it also created space for arts programming, business organizations, community meetings, and future redevelopment opportunities. The garage became home to organizations like Arts Garage and the Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce, helping create a hub for creativity, collaboration, and economic activity.

By thinking beyond parking alone, the Delray Beach CRA helped create a community asset that continues to support downtown residents, businesses, visitors, and cultural organizations today.
