THE MUSIC INDUSTRY & THE WORLD have lost a legend. I’m Devastated. Gutted. Crying. Life is so precious & so was this man. GLEN HANSARD. I adored him. He always knew my favorite song…& would tease me with it & “Finally” play it & find me in the room & smile over at me every time. (& there were 100’s+ of times between him solo, Swell Season, & one of my fav bands of all time The FRAMES). A huge influence to SO many & to me...in my life & early career booking & managing, supporting & promoting Irish Artists & my time spent living & working in music in Ireland. Yes, Music, Story-telling, Writing, Movies, Broadway; the world might know his talent…somewhat, but he was MORE, he was brilliant. An Irish icon & treasure that will be so devastatingly felt & missed by so many who knew him, & the ones that just simply FELT like they knew him. Yes, he made people FEEL, he stirred up emotions; good bad ugly beautiful explosive gut wrenching vulnerable heart felt emotions…all of which his family (my deepest prayers & condolences), friends, & fans are & will be feeling today, tomorrow & every day till they “Lay Me Down”.
