I’m expanding my creative pursuits into immersive and interactive art installations. This yet untitled installation welcomes the viewer to walk through a maze of basic cardboard boxes and use sharp implements to cut them open to discover a world of mysteries within. They are also invited to unwrap and add to the growing paper towers, where one may contemplate the excessive use of protection for everyday items of seemingly little value. Evoking emotions such as confusion, one might have thoughts of “why, how, and WTF?”
It speaks to themes of overconsumption, the real value and cost of inherited items, and the relationship between people and their possessions.
It is by far one of the most personal and intimate works I’ve ever created. In the process I’ve considered the meaning of life and question my place in this world and where I belong: here, there or somewhere in between. It’s truly been an existential crisis.
It’s an evolving work. Let me know if you are interested in experiencing it as it’s run will be for a very limited time. Free coffee and box cutters provided.
