At one point I used wood and charcoal... wasn’t hot enough so then I acquired some coal and it started melting the steel. I’d say it was warm enough but took forever to get going. Plus the fact I had to move the coals around just to keep heat on the metal. Any way to the point of the post.. I made this using coal just to move the coals around. Since it was a small forge that was V shaped it didn’t work out well. But it makes a good stand for my propane forge. @ Delmont, South Dakota

Thought I was on a roll this week but another project ended in failure. On the bright side I remembered why you have to normalize it before you temper it and NEVER TRY TO STRAITEN HARDENED STEEL!!! I do have an idea for what to do with the pieces.

Today was eventful. I made a bola then I tested it out resulting in me needing a long latter and a yard stick. Then I had fun with it for about an hour. I threw it and the twine broke off if all three rock sacks...time to breakout the 550 cord!
