Don Rickles was the king insult humor. He could make fun of you in a way that would make everyone in the room laugh BUT the one laughing the hardest was you. Because that’s what a good comic does.

I see a lot of people attempt to be insult comics that fall embarrassingly flat simply because their insult wasn’t funny to begin with. There was no ‘joke’, they were just being mean. And sure, SOME people might be laughing. But they’re the very same people that can’t take it when the insult it turned back on them.

I have a rule when it comes to comedy. Don’t dish out what you cannot take yourself. If you don’t want people making fun of your religion then don’t make fun of other people’s religions. If you don’t want people making fun of the way you dress then don’t make fun of the way other people dress.

Because at that point it is no longer insult humor. It’s bully humor

And also just like everything else in the show there is a very simple and very very very disappointing explanation. I have NOT in fact been digesting anywhere between 2 to 27 balloons a week, every week, for the past 17 years.

When the kids are being little helpers with moving my equipment it always leads to funny conversations.

5 yo girl: Why do you have a hair clip in your wagon?

MN: Oh, that must be my daughters.

5 yo girl: You have a daughter?

MN: Yeah.

5 yo girl: How old is she?

MN: She is 8.

5 yo girl: She’s lucky. I wish I had a Magic Dad. Then I could play with all the Magic toys
