Congratulations to the 2026 MainStreet Art and Culture Slam Indy Champion The Serene Cannon! Props to our runner-up and first alternate Pamela Belitch! And huge thanks for great showings by Polyric and Phad3d Po3tr33 Ink!

Special mention to Maze, who came up in support and turned into Super Woman! She was our sacrifice poet and a whole slew of other things.

2026 MACDeLand Slam Indy Qualifier

This will be a winner take all competiton to decide MainStreet Art and Culture Slam's Indy representative to BOTH the BlackBerry Peach National Poetry Slam taking place in Kansas City Kansas this July 23-26 and the Southern Fried Poetry Slam Festival Indy Competition taking place this June 9-13 in Orlando Florida.

THE FSPA POETRY SLAM CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!

The Bard and Broadside North Central Florida Poetry Festival and The Florida State Poets Association are proud to present the 3rd Annual SWAMP BERRY JAM: North Central Florida POETRY SLAM!!!!

This year's event will be the official Florida State Poets Association poetry slam competition championship, serving as the Florida qualifier for the 2026 BlackBerry Peach National Poetry Slam taking place July 23-26 in Overland Park, KS.

First place is $1000
Second place is $500
Third place is $250
Fourth place is $150

Also, there will be an open mic afterwards! All acts welcome! There will be a $50 prize for the poem that best exemplifies our festival theme "This Is America". And, there will be a $50 prize for the non-poem act that best captures our "This Is America" theme as well.

First place in this event will also win a berth to the 2025 BlackBerry Peach National Poetry Slam (US Qualifier for the WPSO), happening July 23-26 in Overland Park, KS. In addition to the prize money, an in-competition stipend of $250 will be paid to the Florida representative.
