Over 30 years ago, a tradition was born on Woodland Boulevard. 🖼️

We are so grateful to Lance Johnson and The West Volusia Beacon for documenting the history of the Fall Festival of the Arts - DeLand in this extensive feature. From its early days to now hosting 160+ juried artists, this event remains a true labor of love for everyone who organizes it.

For 33 years, the Fall Festival of the Arts has been bringing artists and the community together in Downtown DeLand.

The David Fithian Emerging Artists Program is officially underway, and we’ve already received such great feedback from our participating artists! 🎨

Meet our 2026 Featured Artist, Robert Ross! 🎨

The Winter Park-based painter brings a unique perspective to this year’s Fall Festival of the Arts and we’re excited to share more about the artist behind the artwork.

In this interview, Robert talks about his journey from university writer to full-time oil painter, his fascination with urban negative space, his creative process, and the inspiration behind this year’s featured artwork, Interior with Daffodils and Persimmons.

🎨✨ Supporting the Next Generation of Artists! ✨🎨

ArtWorks DeLand is thrilled to team up with the DeLand Museum of Art for an incredible new endeavor: the David Fithian Emerging Artist Program for the DeLand Fall Festival of the Arts!

Karen Tweedie and Jason Parodi, managers of ArtWorks DeLand, led an introductory clinic for our six talented emerging artists. And this is just the beginning!

Throughout the program, these artists will participate in clinics led by artists from ArtWorks DeLand, covering the skills they need to build successful art careers, from presentation and pricing to customer service and so much more. 🖼️💰💬

We’re incredibly excited to help mentor these artists, share what we’ve learned, and support them as they take their next steps into the art world. We’re even more excited to be doing it alongside the Fall Festival of the Arts DeLand.
