HVCC was founded in 2002 and has grown significantly throughout the years. During the 2017-2018 school year, 239 students were registered in our program. This is equivalent to 86% of the student body in our local school!
Every year, our program provides 840 hours of programming and 9800 meals to students in our community! We provide programs to the youth and community such as Community Nights, Fabulous Fridays, trips in the summer, incentive programs for our youth, Teen Art Auction, and Outreach Education.
HVCC has no plans to stop where they are. The next goal for the organization is to become a 21st Century Community Learning Center. More outreach educators, more hands-on learning, activities that align with state standards: an overall higher quality of learning so that each minute they spend in the program makes an even greater impact.
HVCC estimates it costs $21.48 each time a student attends HVCC. This number was its highest in 2010 and has varied slightly over the years. This tells us that we are continually doing more for the dollars we receive.
