Karla and Scott Stockley are guitarists whose musical origins are from very different places and experiences. They found common ground at a creative improv session in Del Norte in the early 2000s. And from that point, they combined their intricate guitar work, traditional Latin flair, with Karla's soaring vocals to create the sound that is Palmas. Their original compositions blend Blues, Folk, with Latin and Flamenco influences, into a unique fusion of styles.
Konnie and Stephen of Wildwood Sounds in Del Norte, have been hosting live music for 25 years ( almost 800 live music concerts) including their open mic series 'We Be Jammin' which brought many styles of music together. 'Just Magic', the duo's name, performs original songs, many of which are about the San Luis Valley. Their style is Folk, Americana, Rock and Blues.
Palmas and Just Magic probably met at a We Be Jammin' many years ago and decided to play music together and found it to be an interesting mix of styles. We love backing each other's songs and found it to be 'Sweet Medicine'.
Sweet Medicine will perform at Wildwood Sounds on Friday, March 13th.

The son of a motorcycle racer from a small town in west Texas, Chris Beall is a singer/songwriter/producer/guitarist whose albums have been featured on numerous Americana radio/music destinations. Along with his solo career, he is a member of the well-established South Austin Moonlighters whose album “Travel Light” went to #1 on the Alternative Country chart in 2019 and reached #61 on the national Americana radio chart. He was also on the charts in 2023 with the South Austin Moonlighters' album "From Here to Home". His most recent solo album "Abilene" hit number 16 on the Alt Country chart in 2021. His previous solo album in 2014, "The Gin Mill Hymns", showed-up at #15 on the Texas Roots Radio chart, #29 on the national Roots Rock Radio chart, and #173 on the national Americana radio chart. He has achieved the #1 position on the Reverbnation Americana chart for Central Texas several times, and #3 in the nation. Influenced by many forms of American music, he did a stint in Nashville, but currently resides in Austin Texas where he writes, performs, and produces music. Chris has also produced and played on several Texas artists' songs including The Ransom Brothers, Walt Wilkins, Austin Mayse, Denny Herrin's "Robert E Lee Motel" and Brett Hauser's "I'm As Good As Gone". His discography as an artist includes multiple albums.

“Celtic Indian”, Arvel Bird, brings his Mixed Blood Heritage in story, music and song to the Wildwood Sounds, Del Norte, Co July 19th.
Celtic Indian, is a reflection of Arvel Bird’s mixed-blood American Indian and Celtic heritages (S. Paiute Utah/Clan Kennedy Scotland). With his violin, fiddle, Native flutes and Irish whistles, Arvel weaves a powerful tapestry of music
and stories including his original 8 movement concerto for violin, flute, Native drumming and singing called “Tribal Music Suite-Journey of a Paiute”.
Bird weaves together traditional stories about animals and their totem meanings with compositions about the Bear, Horse, Red-tail Hawk, Badger, Wolf and mingles in lively Celtic fiddle tunes like The Lively Lass, Star of Munster, Many Clans, Many Tribes, Phoenix Firebird, Rockness Monster as well as songs of hope and triumph like Red Nations Rising, Wovoka Spoke, Eagle Wind Sky and Warriors Unafraid.
Classically trained as a violinist, Arvel Bird's compositions and performances are a confluence of styles from Celtic, bluegrass and his original Native American folk and Celtic rock orchestrations.
As he worked to develop his own music style and a large following, Arvel went wherever the music called him, which led him away from classical and towards Bluegrass, Appalachian, Folk and Celtic. During his years in the Midwest,
Arvel won the Indiana State Fiddle Contest four times while still perfecting a variety of performance styles.
From 1986 to 2000 Arvel toured with Glen Campbell, Loretta Lynn, Tom T. Hall, Ray Price, Louise Mandrell, and Clay Walker.
Arvel’s continuously evolving music is delighting audiences worldwide. He recently released "Celtic Indian" CD, a reflection of his live shows. For the July 19th concert he will be drawing music not only from his Tribal music Suite
but also his 3 Animal Totems CDs, Celtic Nation CD and brand new songs not yet released on recordings.
Although once based in Nashville, TN, Arvel is now settled in Cottonwood, AZ, still connecting with audiences the old-fashioned way . . . live. This is where Arvel’s emotionally driven performances thrive, igniting concert venues,

The Close is Shannon Walker, Lori J Rowton and James McKinney, a collective of introspective lyricists known for their genre-blending melodies and stellar harmonies. Their music first gained attention with the release of their EP Hello Heart in 2019. Since then, they have been compared to ‘a mesmerizing wall of sound coming straight at you’ with their harmonies and captivating live performances. The full band consists of some of the most innovative, technically solid and creative players in Nashville: Dylan Stansberry on drums, Kenny Sayne on electric, and Mikel Urdy on percussion.
The Close’s music is a fusion of various genres, including Americana, contemporary folk, roots, and country, all infused with a commercial pop sensibility. This unique blend allows them to create a sound that is both familiar and fresh, appealing to a wide range of listeners.

Sturtz’s music stands out for its distinctive, soothing instrumental and vocal harmonies.
NPR’s All Songs Considered described the band as “a reassuring breath of fresh air that pulls me back to simpler times." The acoustic quartet – Andrew Sturtz [vocals, guitar], Courtlyn Carpenter [cello, harmonies], Will Kuepper [bass, harmonies], and Jim Herlihy [banjo, harmonies] - is serene and folksy, with melodic vocals soaring over the lower string instrumentals. Sturtz released their debut album You’ve Done this Before in August 2021, and now they are hard at work recording a second album that is set to release in September 2024. When they’re not playing music, you’ll probably find them milling flour, farming, laying in a creek, or eating native foliage.
