Attention area artists! You are invited to participate in our annual fine art show. The event is juried and judged. Cash prizes will be awarded. To enter, go to ShowSubmit.com and look for the Defiance Society of Artists' fourth annual fine art show, formerly the Be ARTsee exhibit. Show dates at the Defiance College Women's Commission Art Gallery are Sundays, Oct. 18 and 25 and Nov. 1 and 8, from 1-5 p.m. For a $35 entry fee, each artist may enter up to 3 works of art. The deadline for entry is Sept. 21, with judging on Sept. 22 by northwest Ohio artist Mike Huffman.

A BIG SHOUT OUT to those who donated to the roofing fund for the Defiance Society of Artists. We will be replacing the roofs of our gallery and studio thanks to the community. Generous donors were Defiance Moose Lodge, Moose Women, VFW Post 3360, General Motors CRC, Justin F. Coressel Foundation, Defiance Area Foundation, Bryan Keller, John Boesling, Clete and Julie Miller and in memory of Jack E. Oberlin.

The first one is Kinusaiga and the owner would like to donate 10% of the profit from the session to the Defiance Society of Artists. This class is on Aug. 1. The class is $40 to register.

A big shout-out to numerous Defiance organizations and individuals for their donations to our roofing fund. This fall, the Defiance Society of Artists will be replacing a nearly 30-year-old roof on the house/gallery. Amazingly generous donors to date are: Moose Lodge, VFW Post 3360, General Motors CRC Committee, Justin F. Coressel Foundation, Defiance Area Foundation, John Boesling, and Clete and Julie Miller. Donations are still being accepted as replacing the roof on the studio is planned as well. (Fingers crossed) 🤞
