Over the past few months, I have been quietly battling chronic health issues.
I’ve tried to push through around doctor’s appointments & sick days, procedures
I had mhos surgery to remove cancerous cells in my skin, diagnosed with Endometriosis, liver disease, and Hyperkinetic biliary dyskinesia.
I’ve been battling ovarian cyst and endometrioma ruptures which have caused constant ER visits.
My whole system has been in an inflammatory state due to my endometriosis.
Wednesday I was in the ER with an endometrioma rupture. Yesterday, my gallbladder was removed. I am going to be taking some time to heal over the next two weeks. I will be back in office after that, as much as I am physically able to.
This fall, I will be getting a hysterectomy and doing endometriosis surgery. During this time I will be taking a medical leave of absence from the studio BUT we will still be offering classes, I will have more of an admin role while our other instructors will be handling classes and in studio teachings.
It would mean the world to me if you can continue to support the studio and us during this time. As we all know, small businesses don’t have much of a reserve. As medical bills come in, the need to pay more instructors, etc etc.
When I opened the studio, I did so in a way that would allow me to work around my chronic health issues- I needed a job with flexibility. And thank god I do have that but there are financial stressors along with other stressors of not being able to give the studio my all.
I share this with you, not for sympathy but to be clear and communicative to family and friends of what I am going through and for those who have noticed my absence more than lately.
My most important focus right now is my health and getting to a point where I can be the healthiest version of myself for not just myself, but my family, and studio community.
Thank you to all those who have supported me, been a back bone, picked up extra shifts, dropped off food, helped with Luci. It truly does take a village and I’m so lucky to have mine.
I look forward to being back in the winter to teaching full time again 🤍
