‼️MEET THE PHOTOGRAPHERS OF YOU ARE BEING RECORDED: OBSCURA NOIR‼️

"‘obscura noir’ is my lifelong fascination documenting the strange and visceral, sharing a passion for moments of tension and peculiarity.

To be a documentarian is to move through the world alongside the oddballs and
characters, choosing to listen more than speak. Every project, event, and individual is approached with care, curiosity, and intention.

With over 20+ years of photography experience, I stepped back into the local scene in 2022 to build community and make art. From local sh***ri gatherings and
kink parties to hook suspension meets, my subjects and spaces are intentional and
constantly evolving. What unites them is not spectacle, but presence.

My practice is explicitly consent-forward, grounded in mutual respect and trust, with the
understanding that the access I’m given is a privilege and an honor.

My work is q***r forward, sex-positive, anti-fascist, and grounded in a zero-tolerance
stance toward bigotry, racism, transphobia, misogyny, or hate of any kind."

‼️MEET THE ARTISTS OF YOU ARE BEING RECORDED: ROLLINRAY‼️

"My creative journey has been deeply personal. After years of crafting juggling props and fulfilling others' visions, I shifted my focus to creating art that resonates with my own experiences and interests. I began sculpting monsters and creatures that reflect my imagination, inspired by artists like Clive Barker and H.R. Giger. My work is a blend of their dark aesthetics with a unique twist, reminiscent of the vibrant energy of 90s happy hardcore raves.

The central theme of my art revolves around the notion of sentience emerging from the digital realm. I envision a world where digital entities evolve, developing sensory organs and physical forms as they navigate through networks and power sources. This evolution is represented in my largest piece, aptly named "Mother," which stands 45 inches tall and 7 feet long. It is a culmination of my most complex work, embodying the essence of these digital creatures that I have been sculpting over the years.

I see myself as a techno-mudlark. I harvest broken tech waste to find oddball parts to turn into pieces of art. Combined with UV resin, clay, thermoplastic and paint, I let my creatures evolve as I create. Rarely do I work from a sketch or even an idea. I just let the parts talk to me and tell me what they want to be."

For most of their life, Misadventures identified as 'crafty, not creative,' preferring the security of step-by-step instructions. But the growth and self-discovery of recent years has unearthed a creative essence they can no longer deny. Today, Misadventures feels a deep-seated need to put form to their ideas, and they've found the manipulation of clay a welcome avenue for emotional processing and deconstruction of the societal conditioning and expectations which no longer serve them.

Justin Hunt is a reverse glass painter pushing the boundaries of a centuries-old technique with a sharp, contemporary edge. Working in reverse—where every stroke demands precision and foresight—Hunt transforms glass into a layered narrative surface, blending technical discipline with raw creative instinct.

His work explores tension: between fragility and permanence, clarity and distortion, control and chaos. Through bold compositions and meticulous ex*****on, Hunt reclaims reverse glass painting from tradition and repositions it within a modern, unapologetic visual language.

Drawing inspiration from urban textures, psychological depth, and the unseen layers beneath everyday life, his pieces challenge viewers to look beyond the surface—both literally and conceptually. Each work is constructed with intention, where mistakes cannot be hidden, only anticipated, making every finished piece a testament to both risk and mastery.

Hunt’s art doesn’t ask for attention—it demands it.

Fropsi is a Dallas based DJ who has been a fixture of the North Texas burner community since 2010. Never one to stay put stylistically, his sets are a revolving door of genres and vibes, from sinister techno to goofy blog house throwbacks. Fropsi is also the host of Mind the Headspace, a monthly podcast featuring forward thinking mixes from the Dallas underground.

Daria, aka SuperFineFatGirl, doesn’t really think she’s an artist. This is her first time doing anything like this. Before now, any art she has done was just for her own enjoyment, to fulfill her need to be creative, or was musical in nature. However, the theme of being watched called to her exhibitionist side and she had to participate.

We're thrilled to be Daria's first time exploring "anything like this" at TECHNOXUAL:// YOU ARE BEING RECORDED // ART // FE**SH // DANCE // CONVERGENCE in two weeks ;)
