Young artists ages 7–12 will explore ceramics, visual art, crafts, movement, and performance through a new theme each week.

Art, nature, and community come together at Sawmill Lane! 🌿
Join us on Wednesday, August 19 at 5 pm for the ribbon cutting of the new Sawmill Lane Pollinator Pathway.
Over the past six months, the Dedham Department of Public Works has transformed this once-overgrown parcel into a welcoming community space and valuable habitat for the plants and wildlife along Mother Brook.
The pathway also includes a new community seed library, created by Eagle Scout Malachi Reed of Dedham Troop 3, as well as the biodiversity-themed Sawmill Lane Art Walk, organized by MBACC and featuring artwork by members of our community.
Come explore the newly restored space, see the art, and celebrate the many partners who brought this project to life. We hope to see you there!

Meet Elissa, one of our Summer Youth Arts instructors!
A multidisciplinary artist with a background in painting, ceramics, and printmaking, Elissa creates functional and sculptural work inspired by nature and personal experiences. She is a graduate of Massachusetts College of Art and Design and the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts.
This summer, Elissa is excited to introduce our young artists to a variety of printmaking techniques, stop-motion animation, sculptural projects, and more! So much incredible work has already been created, and we can’t wait to see what they create next!

New session alert! 🏺 Meet Hand-Building with Rocky Prull : a brand-new, all-hand-building ceramics class on Wednesday mornings at 10am. This class is perfect for beginners and experienced potters alike, you'll explore the foundations of hand-building: working with slabs, coils and beyond.
Date Summary: September 9 - December 2
No Class: October 7; October 21; November 11
Duration: 10 weeks
Day/Time: Wednesdays, 10:00am-1:00pm

We're grateful for the teaching artists making this summer unforgettable. Teacher Spotlight: Meet Jess Byrd! Jess is a multi-disciplinary artist working in painting, embroidery, and paper craft. Her abstract large- and small-scale work concentrates on form and color. She attended Massachusetts College of Art and Design and is a resident artist here at Mother Brook. This summer, Jess is excited to share her love of creative process and exploration with our Summer Youth students. Thank you, Jess, for sharing your talent with our young artists!
