We were so privileged and proud to dance for Arko Dance Studio in the Yankee Classic Dance Competition this weekend. Thank you to Igor Litvinov for such a welcoming, well run, and enjoyable competition! Top Local Female Student Award went to our very own Deanna Young!! Well deserved!!

And we are so proud that Arko Beybutyan, our studio owner and teacher extraordinaire, was recognized with a special award: the 2026 Yankee Legend Award: “This award honors a teacher whose dedication, leadership and passion have left a lasting mark on our event. For the past three years, they have consistently ranked among our Top 3 Teachers, bringing incredible energy, enthusiasm, and unwavering support from their studio. Their commitment to their students, competitive excellence, and positive impact on our dance community make them truly deserving of this recognition. What an incredible weekend at the 2026 Yankee Classic DanceSport Championships!

This past Thursday and Friday, I had the privilege of competing in American Rhythm and American Smooth with my amazing students — Deanna, Connie, Valeria, Michelle, Joelle, and Karen. I couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of them. They stepped onto the floor with courage, determination, elegance, and heart, and their performances were truly inspiring.

Dance competitions are about much more than placements and awards. They are about growth, commitment, overcoming challenges, and celebrating the journey. Watching these ladies push themselves, trust their training, and shine under pressure was the greatest reward a teacher could ask for.
