"Juneteenth is the celebration of the end of slavery. We should all be celebrating this glorious day as one united country. But we are not, because racism is as alive and well as it ever was. Today, nearly 250 years after the founding of this country, we have black children (even babies) being gunned down by white men. People are afraid to leave their homes. This violence is sanctioned by the U.S. Government, but the responsibility lies with us. We are the ones who must finally declare No More, and make it so. Only then will we be able to say our country truly stands for freedom."
