Theatre 7 - Decatur's Community Theatre

Theatre 7 - Decatur's Community Theatre Theatre 7 is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit organization that produces live theatre in Decatur, IL! 🎭 Our headquarters are located at 131 N. Water St.

Theatre 7 is a 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer organization, dedicated to fostering an interest in theater arts. Theatre 7 has provided quality live stage entertainment in the greater Decatur area since 1964. (next to the Arts Council) and all mainstage performances are at the Decatur Civic Center. Theatre 7 survives thanks to the hard work and dedication of its volunteers and donations from the

community. A successful stage production requires many volunteers working behind the scenes before, during, and after the run of show. It costs thousands of dollars to produce a live stage production. Our fundraisers, ticket sales and patron/sponsor donations help us stay alive. Interested in joining? There are many opportunities, onstage and behind the scenes. We need carpenters, lighting techs, sound techs, producers, actors, directors, choreographers, musicians and more! Become a sponsor! Individuals, companies, and organizations can help by becoming a patron, making a donation, purchasing program ads or sponsoring the royalty or production costs of a show. Today we're shouting out the orchestra for Sister Act - The Musical led by Music Director Patrick Ward!

Part of the magic of live theatre is how the orchestra helps move the plot forward, working in synch with the actors on stage to hit the right timing for a hushed dramatic moment or a burst of laughter.

Best of all is how the sound fills the theatre so the audience can literally feel the bass and be left with chills or joy at all the right moments.

A big thank you to these Decatur area musicians for sharing their talents with Theatre 7:
- Patrick Ward - Music Director, Keyboard
- Lyn Sly - Keyboard
- Jason Waddell - Bass
- Chris Weirman - Drums
- Phillip Tsigolaroff - Trumpet
- Aubree Himanga - Flute
- Jen Himanga - Saxophone

Tickets are available for this weekend's performances through the Decatur Civic Center at https://www.decaturciviccenter.org/events/567/sister-act/ or call 217-422-6161.
