Ahmad Inkandesigns stepped outside to enjoy the weather and do a little spray painting… ended up with a whole audience 😂

A few neighborhood kids spotted him creating, came over curious, and got to talking. Next thing you know, they wanted to come inside and check out the artwork, too!

No event planned. Just some good weather, a little paint, and curiosity bringing people together. Love seeing the kids get excited about art. 🖤🪷

Activator Magazine presents Black Artists Matter: Issue No. 6, featuring Gallery 37 artists Bri, Gee, Tahira, DT and Teia Davis, alongside more incredible talent from Central Illinois artists.

We’re proud to see their work, stories and creativity receive this recognition. We’re also thankful Gallery 37 could play a part in helping these artists reach another platform and another audience. Their work deserves to be seen, remembered and celebrated.

Congratulations to every artist featured, and thank you to Activator Magazine for continuing to make space for Black artists.

We have extra copies available FREE at Gallery 37. Stop by, grab yours and see the talent being created throughout our communities.

Some artists don’t need to be in front of the camera—their art is what they see through it.

If you notice angles other people miss, know when the lighting feels right, or can picture the shot before anybody presses record, the Youth Media Team may be for you.

This is for the young creatives who would rather operate the camera, capture sound, conduct interviews, edit footage, and help shape the final production. You don’t have to be outgoing or comfortable on camera. You just need an eye, a vision, and the willingness to learn.

🎥 15 spots available
🎬 Ages 13–18
📍 Decatur, Illinois
💻 No experience required

Led by Youth Media Program Coordinator Travonn.
