MOVE BEFORE YOU MAKE. 👣

Artists often ask their bodies to stay still: sitting at a desk, standing at an easel, concentrating on tiny details.

Wiggle, twist, shake, and stretch! Listen to your body.

The power of a dot...

Have you ever zoned out while creating with a simple limitation, like using only dots? Sometimes, giving your brain one small thing to focus on can turn into the most calming, meditative experience. As part of our "Artists Are From Everywhere" series, artists at Pure Hope Project explored dot painting inspired by the work of Australian Aboriginal artist Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri.

Sometimes, all you need is one little dot to get started! ⚫🖌

We're sharing our most asked questions this month about our Artist Cohort.

➡ The application mentions mentoring a teen artist. What does that mean?

We equip you with tools and skills to do a short (but impactful) mentorship with a teen interested in the arts! There's a pretty amazing collaborative project built into the mentorship that makes the experience unforgettable. 👏

YOUR HANDS KNOW! 🙌🏾

Artists spend a lot of time paying attention to their hands: the pressure of a pencil, the pull of a brush, the weight of clay, the rhythm of making.

You can use that same attention to help your nervous system settle.

We are so excited to be back with Catholic Charities and begin our journey around the world with our new theme, "Artists Are From Everywhere!" 🌎 ✈

These projects explore the work of diverse artists from around the world to discover that creativity is a universal language that connects us all. Through art-making across various mediums, alongside meaningful conversations, students build kindness, empathy, respect, and celebrate the strengths in themselves and others. During our journey, we will see that art has the power to strengthen communities, tell important stories, and inspire positive change.
