"Story Time"
It's Wednesday again, another story time. We're posting EXTRA early so that you have plenty of time to read it! Grab a coffee or what ever your morning drink is and enjoy the ride.
Today at 10am we continue our FFFF - A Minecraft Movie - Presented by DZ Gaming and Two Brothers Bar and Restaurant. The movie is free, and concessions will be available for purchase. Doors open at 9:15am.
Where were you in November, 1995? You may have just finishing watching one of the best Pixar movies of your life, which would start a movie series lasting your lifetime. You just finished watching Toy Story. I remember watching this one as a kid, then with my kids, then while I was recuperating a few weeks ago I rewatched all of the Toy Story movies. The story started with Andy as a kid, then the last one he went to college, I cannot wait to see where they take this story next.
Since Friday is a holiday for some, and its also Downtown Decatur Days weekend we have added more shows to give you a chance to see this weekends movies and still have fun doing other things around town. 13 chances to see Toy Story 5 right here in Decatur for only $5!

Also playing is Disclosure Day directed by Steven Spielberg, starring Emily Blunt and Josh O'Connor. This movie is about two people who gain new abilities after humanity discovers extraterrestrial life, forcing them to evade a government agency to reveal the truth. We watched this one last week. I had no idea what to expect, however I really enjoyed it. We don't play lots of Sci-fi movies, as our attendance is not a huge following. Only 140 in all last weekend to watch it. If you're a fan of Sci-fi movies we need you to show up this weekend. This is most likely the final weekend for Disclosure Day.

Speaking of Downtown Decatur Day, Saturday at 12:30 we are doing a "Egg Drop" friendly competition, at the corner of Madison and 2nd St. There is still time to make a contraption to compete, it took me about 10 minutes, (see pic below). Every team who enters gets $5 in Movie Money. The winner gets $200 in CASH!!!and the best looking contraption gets $20 in Movie Money. Not into making anything, there will be Movie Money and other things falling from the sky that day so be sure to come out and watch even if you choose nit to participate! I hope this is a fun event, and it will continue for years to come, but I need you to show up and have fun with me.
Also, stop by The Hive Decatur on 2nd St and participate in our Art Scavenger Hunt and you can be entered to win some Movie Money!
Final thought, last night we took our staff to a Tincaps game in the Home Run porch. I am not a huge baseball fan, but the food was great, and they had a good time. They enjoyed taking the night off before the summer rush.
Sorry to say...you need to start planning ahead the next 10 weeks as we anticipate being sold out or very full many of our shows...Toy Story 5, Minions & Monsters, Moana, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day are all playing this summer! There are so many movies this some...come early...come often!
See you at the Cinema!
