We are thrilled that Rebecca's Handmade Sweetgrass Baskets will be joining us again at this year’s Archaeology Day!
Ms. Gilliard learned how to make baskets form her aunt when she was only 10 years old, but she didn’t pick it back up until she was in her 20s. Since then, she has made a business of teaching people how important this heritage craft is to preserve. She taught all three of her daughters to ensure it continues to get passed down from one generation to the next.
