Dearborn High School Theatre announces that senior thespian Christos Andreou has been named the recipient of the 2026 Ian Simpson Memorial Thespian Scholarship . This past year's troupe President, Christos' DHS stage credits include the roles of "Sky Masterson" in Guys and Dolls, "Ken" in Rumors, "Davey" in Disney's Newsies, "Gaston" in Disney's Beauty and the Beast and "Emperor Octavium" in Epic Proportions. He also named the Outstanding Senior Actor and Thespian for 2026. Christos competed successfully at the 2024 and 2025 State Thespian Festivals where he was a State Medalist in the Musical Theatre Group Competition and earned Certificates of Excellence in the Musical Theatre solo and Acting Scene events. He was also nominated for the Dearborn Area Theatre Association (DATA) Awards in the Leading and Featured Actor categories numerous times and earned a DATA Scholarship this past year. He plans to study Theatre and attend either Wayne State or Henry Ford College. Congratulations Christos. The Scholarship, named in memory of DHS Thespian Ian SImpson, is given by his parents, Lori and Cory Rodriguez to honor Ian's wonderful personal journey in Theatre , both at DHS and in the Dearborn Theatre community.
