Beyond the Garden
NCECA Featured Exhibition

Public Reception: Friday, March 27th 6-8pm.

The 2026 NCECA theme Volumes "explores diverse cultures, material-driven experimentation, and conceptual frameworks that animate art created through clay." Each of the artists featured in Beyond the Garden use clays inherent malleability and responsiveness to generate a breadth of forms from tightly rendered realistic birds to piles and stacks of collected detritus of daily life. Within this reverence for clay many push beyond its expectations within our ever-expanding field of ceramics bringing in materials such as neon, wood, or fiber. This exhibition brings together a diverse range of artists in their approach to making, thinking, and responding to our natural world.

Featured Artists: Sarah Conti, Bridget Fairbanks, Trevor King, Anna Kruse, Julie Moon, David Morrison, Sun Young Park, Abbey Peters, Grace Potters, Jason Lee Starin, Michael Takahata.
