💕MEET OUR STAFF💕

Today we’re introducing our dance director and social media manager Ms. Lindsey!

Ms. Lindsey has been dancing for almost 23 years now and is in her fifth year teaching for JLDA. She will be teaching Tap from beginner to adult, ballet, pointe and Pom.

Here at JLDA we have a lot of special connection throughout our staff! Ms. Lindsey and Ms. Jaclyn are cousins. The familial connection doesn’t end there, ms. Lynn, our front desk staff, is her mom! Ms Lindsey has had the pleasure of teaching many of the current staff in her fitness classes( check out Prato Fitness, LLC!) over the years.

Finally, this year we’re asking all our staff to give us a few fun facts about themselves! Ms. Lindsey actually has gone by her last name (Prato) since she was in elementary school! She’s a huge lions fan even though her favorite player (Anzalone) was traded this year 😭. Shes also a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority 🐢. And finally, Ms. Lindsey’s favorite music is 2000s hip hop/R&B. Shes seen her favorite artist, Usher now at least 5-6 times in concert!

Ms. Lindsey is so excited to see all her old students and cannot wait to meet and teach her new ones! She looks forward to seeing you next week! 💕🪩🩰

💕MEET OUR STAFF💕

We are so excited to introduce to you the staff at Joyleigh Dance Academy for the 2026-2027 season! You’ll be seeing some old and new faces this year so buckle up and let’s get this party started with our wonderful owner!

Jaclyn is our owner and director here at Joyleigh! As our 5th year begins, she is so excited to be back to teaching 2 of our beginner ballet classes, intermediate hip hop and acro gymnastics, and advanced hip hop and acro gymnastics! Ms. Jaclyn is no stranger to dance as she’s been dancing since she was 3 years old! When she says dance is her passion she truly means it!

Did you know that Ms. Jaclyn knows almost every single one of her staffers personally? That’s right! “Emma is my daughter, Lindsey is my cousin, Lynn is my aunt, Marla and Steph are my besties for over a decade and everyone on the team are the best employees 💕”

Ms. Jaclyn is a mom first and foremost. Her three children have all danced at JLDA at one time or another. She’s a lunch mom at her child’s elementary school and has been an active member of her kids PTA program. A couple of more fun facts for you about our owner is she has two dogs(named after Star Wars characters, her FAVORITE movies!) she married her high school sweetheart(Awh! 💕) and is an avid concert goer!

Ms. Jaclyn cannot wait to welcome you all, current and new students, to dance with us at Joyleigh!

🌟SPOTLIGHT DANCE🌟

Last but certainly not least!

This one’s just for you guys, THE PARENTS!!

Yes! You read that right we offer adult classes,too!

This year we’re so excited to be offering adult Tap and belly dancing!

We are so excited to be offering beginner level adult tap to you this year! Always wanted to learn but never got the chance? Used to tap dance but feel a little rusty and wanna get back into it? Well here’s your chance! This course is basic introduction of tap instruction and technique for adults but can be adapted to your skill level as needed. Our instructor, Ms. Lindsey is able to incorporate all levels of tap dance experience so don’t feel shy that this class might be too slow! In this class we will work with you on your rhythm exercises and combinations to increase speed for your dance sounds. Again, ABSOLUTELY NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED!! Dads don’t let those tap shoes go to waste and moms, don’t let the dads have all the fun!

Tap not really your speed? Don’t worry we’ve got something extra special for you.. that’s right! Belly dancing!

Unlock the enchanting world of belly dance with Hayllucination's "Belly Dance Basics" Course! Led by our own Ms. Haley, who is trained in Transcontinental Belly Dance, this class offers a unique fusion of Egyptian, Indian, and other Tribal styles. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your dance skills further, you'll learn fundamental techniques, rhythms, and movements in a supportive and inspiring environment. Join us in exercising your feminine energy and experience the beauty and cultural richness of this diverse dance form.

🌟SPOTLIGHT DANCE🌟

Joyleigh dance is so excited to announce the return of lyrical and contemporary dance for the 2026/2027 season!

Starting with lyrical, this class is offered only to our students 8 years and older. Ballet experience is not required but will be useful for this course! This class will combine ballet and jazz techniques with emotion and storytelling. As the song goes on, your child will learn to express their emotions through their dance moves. Dancers will continue practicing leaps, turns, flexibility and their performance skills all while learning expressive choreography.

Contemporary is offered to our students ages 10 and up! This class focuses on contemporary technique, creativity and movement quality. Similarly to lyrical the focus of the class is combining dance with storytelling! Your dancer will explore floor work, fluid choreography and artistic expression while continuing building strength, control and confidence all while having fun!

🌟SPOTLIGHT DANCE🌟

Today’s spotlight dance belongs to our Pom/hip hop class! This class has quickly taken off since we’ve offered it and we can’t wait for you to join and see why!

Pom/hip hop is offered to our students 5 and up and are split into two classes

Beginner Pom/hip hop is for our children between 5-8 years of age and will serve as the basic introduction to Pom and basic cheer moves! All experiences levels can enjoy this class! While incorporating hip hop moves into our routines your child will learn the very beginnings of proper arm placement for Pom moves, proper lifts and stunts, beginner kick lines all while also learning basic hip hop moves to complete a very fun and energetic routine.

Advanced Pom/hip hop is for our students 10 and up and have completed beginner Pom or have previous cheer/tumbling experience! In this class the stunts become more challenging along with the hip hop moves to create a lively and exciting routine to wow you parents with at recital! We of course can’t forget the infamous kick line that students will learn and preform in their routine.

This class has gained popularity since we began offering it and we can’t wait to show you why! Join us for Pom/hip hop this year! You won’t regret it 💕

🌟SPOTLIGHT DANCE🌟

Today’s spotlight dance is featuring our hip hop/jazz classes!

This class is for every age starting from pre-school all the way to our advanced classes!

In pre-school hip hop/jazz, for our 3-4 year old kiddos we’re focusing on the basic introduction of jazz techniques and the rudimentary combinations of crossing the floor. Your child will also learn proper stretching techniques and popular simple hip hop moves as well!

Beginner hip hop/jazz is for our kids 5 and up! As always class will start with proper stretching techniques and a warm up. This class will also focus on basic combo moves and jazz techniques while adding in popular hip hop moves to get your child movin’ and groovin’ across the floor.

Intermediate hip hop/jazz is for our students 8 and older and who have mastered their beginning hip hop/jazz class. In this course, your dancers will be challenged with more difficult dance combinations as seen in hip hop routines you know and love.

Advanced hip hop/jazz is for our students 10 and up and who have completed their training in the intermediate course. Here is where your student will be challenged with more complex combinations and hip hop moves along with more difficult jazz techniques that are sure to keep your kid moving!

🌟SPOTLIGHT DANCE🌟

Today’s dance under the spotlight is our acrobatic (AKA Acro) gymnastic classes! 🤸🏽‍♂️🤸🏽‍♂️🤸🏽‍♀️🤸🏽‍♂️

We are so happy to offer to our 3-4 year olds our preschool acro gymnastics classes! In this course your preschooler will be introduced to the basics of tumbling. Your child will learn proper stretching and coordination exercises, forward rolls and basic gymnastics moves that will also incorporate the elements of dance.

Beginner acro gymnastics is specifically for our students who are 5 and up! Students will start to work on cartwheels, learning front and back rolls, bridges and working toward more advanced stunts while still focusing on basic stretches and strength drills. Of course, elements of dance will be taught throughout the course as well

Intermediate acro gymnastics is offered to our students who are 8 and older and who have mastered the techniques from beginner gymnastics. More advanced tumbling and gymnastic skills will be developed as your child works toward more advanced stunts all while incorporating elements of dance to their routine.

Advanced acro gymnastics is for our students 10 and up and who have completed the intermediate gymnastics class. Advanced students will be working towards harder and more advanced tumbling and gymnastics skills with components of dance throughout while also working on more complicated stunts.
