You can tell when a playground was designed with summer in mind.

The shade lands where families actually gather. The benches aren't in full sun at 2 p.m. Kids stay a little longer before asking to go home.

Yesterday teams of installers and our operations team were on-site at Grand Star Elementary, one of the six Gardner Edgerton schools we're building this summer, for hands-on Berliner installer training.

Manufacturer-specific training is how installs land right the first time. Different equipment lines have different tolerances, sequencing, and hardware.

Summer is one of the most schedule-sensitive windows for playground work.

For schools, parks, and community spaces, the details have to move in the right order: design, equipment, site work, surfacing, installation, and final coordination.

This season, ABcreative crews are active across the region, including Grand Star Elementary, one of six elementary school playground projects we’re working on with Gardner Edgerton.

A closer look at a recent project: Church of the Resurrection.

The playground centers on Berliner's towering Pegasus.02, an 8-meter sculptural climbing structure with a giant slide and open play space at its core. The design pairs it with a double Cloud 9, TrekFit's Bamboo Jungle, musical equipment, and pour-in-place surfacing for a varied, accessible environment.

This is what we mean when we talk about pulling the right pieces from the right makers. After 30+ years and 6,000+ projects, we've learned which equipment kids come back to, which materials hold up through many winters, and which combinations actually earn their footprint. Church of the Resurrection brings those decisions together in one space.
