Juneteenth is more than a date in history but is a testament to resilience, perseverance, and the enduring pursuit of freedom.

As singers, storytellers, and students of history, the Bethune-Cookman University Concert Chorale recognizes the powerful role music has played in preserving the voices, struggles, and triumphs of Black Americans. From spirituals and gospel hymns to jazz, soul, and contemporary music, generations of artists have transformed pain into purpose and struggle into song.

Today, we honor the legacy of those who came before us, celebrate the voices that shaped our culture, and recommit ourselves to lifting every voice and every story.

“Lift Every Voice and Sing.”❤️💛💚
