Meet the Artist: Maura Gannon, New Smyrna Beach, FL. Kizmet Design Studios. Juried Artist. Jewelry Fine Arts. "I gain my creative and design inspirations from my environment, whether it be nature, art exhibits or fabrics. I offer only one-of-a-kind designs, as the creative design process is my joy! I only use semi-precious stones, high quality chain, freshwater pearls and high-end glass beads for my designs. The creations are whimsical, feminine and sometimes very bold. The term ""Statement Pieces"" is appropriate for my higher end designs."

Meet the Artist: Jill Garrett, Melbourne, FL. Barefoot Art Glass Studio. Juried Artist Mixed Media Fine Arts. "My glass collage artwork blends realism and abstraction through layered mixed media. I begin by painting backgrounds and subjects with acrylics, stains, and inks, then carefully arrange broken, shattered, and hand-cut glass over the surface to create depth, texture, and movement. I may incorporate wood, metal or other natural elements into my work for additional detail. A clear resin finish secures the glass while enhancing its luminous quality. I also create glass-on-glass work with many of these same techniques."

Anatomy of an Art Festival: Location. Location. Location.

Where you hold an art festival matters.

But a great location is about more than a beautiful backdrop or enough room for artist tents. It’s about choosing a place where the festival can become part of the community already there.
