🎤 Q&A with Brian, owner of BLC Entertainment 🎤
1. What was your first gig as BLC Entertainment?
Before BLC was an official business, we did a lot of work with Wright State University, local theaters, and high schools. One of our first events was a campus event at Wright State University.
2. What organization have you worked with the longest?
Wright State University. BLC has worked with Wright State University ArtsGala for twenty years, plus dozens of Welcome Week activities and events like Raiderthon and award banquets around campus.
We also have a great partnership with the The Dayton Art Institute. We are involved in their big annual events like Art Ball, Oktoberfest, and Bourbon & Bubbles. We've worked with Dayton Children's Hospital since they opened their patient tower in 2017 on galas, press events, and dedications. Carillon Historical Park and the Gala of Hope Foundation are a couple of other organizations we've consistently worked with over the years.
3. What are your favorite events to work?
An event where I have to think outside the box and create something unique, for example, turning an empty warehouse into an elegant gala.
4. What is your favorite piece of tech in the warehouse right now?
The Fuel Light also known as a pinspot. It's a versatile, battery-powered magnetic light that can be used to highlight focal points like centerpieces or ice sculptures, but we use it to add extra light coverage for bars and buffet lines.
5. Do you have any memorable design requests from a client?
The client had a vision of their event being in the round. At the time, this layout had never been done at the Dayton Arcade before. We designed the space with a custom stage in the center of the Rotunda surrounded by lighting and video elements.
