Dayton has lost one of its few great musical outlets. Last week Adobe Gilas shut down their open mic. It was the first place I played after moving here a few years ago. I met some amazing musicians that later became amazing friends. I gained hours of stage time that is invaluable to musicians trying to hone their skills. This Saturday come support 7 year old Ava's fight against cancer. The VFW on Spinning Road in Riverside will be hosting a family-themed fundraiser. There will be a pasta dinner, carnival games for the kids, live music by White Hat Co., raffles and 50/50 drawings. It will be a great time for a great cause.
