A Message from the Ohio Music Educators Association...

Accordingly, it is the decision of the OMEA leadership team that it is in the best interest of OMEA and our students to cancel all adjudicated events for the remainder of the school year. We will be in contact with district and region treasurers to outline the procedures for refunding fees and detailing expenses that will be covered.

We know this is an unfortunate outcome. However, OMEA depends on the network of schools we can access through our members. We cannot hold events without the consent and cooperation of our school districts. We have dealt with weather cancellations for many years but we have never encountered something like this. Something of this magnitude requires far more than cooperation with school administrators. We are now affected by the decisions of elected officials and government agencies. It goes without saying that we cannot control the decisions that ultimately determine our future.
