So... It's been 48 hours since the doors opened for an incredible show Saturday night.
I finally got out of bed today.
Just wanted to thank everybody that made Saturday night a magical evening.
I have been a fan of John Batdorf since first seeing him and Mark at the Victoria in 1972. If you had told me that 52 years later I'd .. A. Be alive... and B. I'd be hosting a show with John Batdorf in my house!!
Thanks to Jeff for running the sound, and to Darcy Alden for taking the job of being the face of SRS and our door person. Of course thanks to Ellen Foreman for allowing this sort of mayhem to take place in her home.
Jim Dwyer .. you've done several shows here since You've returned and now when I think of doing something here, I can't imagine not having you here. I won't bother you Everytime, but be sure I will consider bothering you everytime..
Sharon Lane and Danny Sauers , I love you guys.
Sharon came up to me and said thank you for inviting us to be part of this night . I told Sharon she has it backwards. I thanked her and told her that she was one of the only entertainers I trust enough warm up for an artist like John. And she brings more to our cred as a listening room than we bring to her.
John Batdorf. I really can't say enough about our good fortune to have you take a chance on finding your way back to the Miami valley and hopefully finding a room that is as comfortable for you as your shows at Canal Street were for so many years. We look forward to your return.
And to everyone that showed up to hang out with us Saturday night. It never ceases to amaze me that you always find a way to make these shows your shows. You come with food ,you come to see who You're going to run into and who You're going to share the night with. When I hear you saying you hung out with friends you haven't seen in years is exactly why I know we have to keep going.
So , again, thank you to everyone who made it happen and keep your checking in with us. We've got more surprises in store this year!!!!
