As a Theatre major at a smaller school, you will get far more firsthand experience with productions, whether that means being cast in several roles as an actor or being able to work as an assistant director, customer, or designer for a show. The main stage Hilltop Players productions we select at Bryan offer you the opportunity to get involved and grow as an artist in a way that larger programs ar
e simply unable to provide. Musical Theatre graduates are teaching music and drama in public and private schools, while others are serving their communities in local and regional theaters. Others with strong performance abilities are singing and playing all over the world. Still, more have exciting careers outside the music field while using music to enrich their lives and the lives of others. A Theatre degree can lead to a variety of careers both in and out of the theatre, including:
Commercial, regional, and dinner theatre; TV/film studios; industrial shows; church drama; touring companies; Summerstock companies; children’s theatre; education; sports announcing; advertising; public & media relations; human resources; and business, media, and political consulting. Please prepare the following to share with our faculty audition panel that best represents you as an artist, and do it wearing clothes that make you feel confident! Two 60-second monologues (one humorous and one serious). If singing, one 60 seconds selection from a Broadway-style song. Reach out to us via email at [email protected] or call 423-775-7498 if you have specific questions about auditions, our programs, or available scholarships. We are here for you! Need an accompanist? We can provide a professional accompanist for your audition if you request and send music at least 3 weeks in advance. If you do not need an accompanist, please bring a digital version of your accompaniment that you can play for us (i.e. CD or download to your phone).
