One piece to the puzzle! š§©
In sculpture, sometimes thereās strength in numbers. I originally planned for five of these, but I ended up blowing eight to ensure I had the perfect matches for assembly, which I am still iffy on. Haha. It was a process of constant adaptation; while I made a single piece like this years ago in clear, translating that to a full set in real-time meant a lot of troubleshooting on the fly.
It was a rewarding day overall. There is a unique energy to the fast-paced, improvisational workflow that we glassblowers thrive on, and I hope it provided some great insight for everyone who stopped by. I appreciate your patience as I pivoted in real-timeāsometimes, you have to embrace the process to hit that mark of perfection.
Give me a couple of weeks to finalize the assembly on this as well as get the stands fabricated for the glass bobbers we made last open house. My metalworking area has been entirely occupied by the hospice leaf installation, so Iām eager to clear the space and get back to the welding bench!
Huge thanks to everyone who came out to watch. A special shout-out to Dee Carey for the expert assist, and to my dear Beth Hart for documenting the day and putting this video together for me. ā¤ļø
Iām moving as fast as I can to get these finished so stay tuned for the final result.
Cya!
