When it's assembled, our Odaiko (literally, "Big drum") is too big to fit through a standard door. Including the doors at our practice space. 🙃 So when we're going to use it for a performance, we have to take it apart, move all the pieces outside, and then put it back together. Then we transport it by cargo van or truck.

The ropes have to be REALLY tight to get good tension on the skins. It requires multiple people and a lot of muscle. The whole process takes about an hour and a half.
