Hi - My name is Shannon (Stowers) Goines and I have created a business that allows us to share our beautiful 5th generation farm with others. It's called 1826 - the year the Stowers established this property.

๐ŸพWant to include your furry friend in your wedding? Here are some creative ideas for incorporating your leashed pup into your special day at 1826!

1. **Leash as Decor**: Choose a stylish leash that matches your wedding colors, adding a personal touch to your decor!

2. **Doggie Ring Bearer**: Let your pup carry the rings down the aisle! Attach them securely to their collar or a special dog-friendly pillow.

3. **Photo Opportunities**: Capture adorable photos with your dog during the ceremony and reception. We have several great spots for cute pet portraits.

4. **Guestbook Paw-tograph**: Have your dog leave paw prints in a guestbook for a unique keepsake. Be sure to provide non-toxic ink for safe printing.

5. **Ceremony Participation**: Include your dog in the ceremony by having them stand beside you during your vows. Theyโ€™re part of the family!

6. **Dog-friendly Treats**: Set up a treat station for guests to take home to their fur babies.

7. **Leash-Handled Drinks**: Create a fun drink station where guests can grab a drink while holding your dogโ€™s leash.

Itโ€™s all about making memories together!

In the 1800s, it was common practice to construct kitchens as separate structures from the main house. This historical design was implemented to reduce the risk of fire spreading to the living quarters and to help keep the main house cooler, especially during the warmer months. The building you see here served as the original kitchen for our farm when it was inhabited by Tom and Rebecca Stowers.

In April 1989, a tornado swept through the area, significantly damaging the kitchen along with several other structures on the property. My father took the initiative to relocate the logs and rebuild the kitchen in a shaded area, transforming it into a pottery studio for my mother. Equipped with a kiln, a kick wheel for shaping pottery, and ample storage, it became a creative space for her artistic endeavors.

In more recent times, this charming building has been repurposed as a storage shed for our venue. It stands as a quaint reminder of its varied uses over the years and the rich history of our farm.

In 1915, Great Uncle Charles built a dollhouse for his daughter, Lucille. By 1942, it became a country store run by Lucille's husband, offering essentials like lamp oil, salt, pepper, and to***co. Today, it's a historical site near the farm entrance.

Located in Dawsonville, GA, this building and others on the property offer a glimpse into North Georgia's rich past. Stay tuned as we unveil more history of the farm over the coming weeks.
