Alum Leah Daugherty directs "Hurricane Diane" for Sacramento's Big Idea Theatre. This Obie Award-winning comedic play by Madeleine George cleverly re-imagines Euripides' ancient Greek tragedy "The Bacchae." The Greek god Dionysus disguises himself as Diane, a charismatic, butch le***an permaculture gardener, who lands in a New Jersey cul-de-sac in order to seduce four suburban housewives and convince them to tear up their manicured lawns to restore the earth and fight climate change.
