Paintings by Layla, Grace, Kea, Elaina, Anouk, Nora, Lola, Juliana, and Morgan. While I teach to see the unique features and variability of color in my “visual puzzles”, I get to see a great variation in interpretation = unique voice of each artist.

Bouquet in blue bottle

By Abbie

Acrylic on canvas

New beautiful creation at the Academy! Enjoy this delicate painting depicting a bouquet in glass bottle! This acrylic still life has an unexpectedly jazzy rhythm. The dark folds of the curtain seem to act like three deep chords, echoed by the blue bottle, its long shadow and lively notes from bright pinks, violets, and greens of the flowers. The contrasting cool and warm tones, complex color patterns within the shadow contribute to the sophisticated nature of this painting.
