Lashkara at UC Davis LASHKARA: The Official Competitive Hindi Film-Fusion Team at UC Davis! Interested in joining the team? Check our Facebook periodically for dates!

We have workshops and auditions for interested students in the Davis/Sacramento area every October. The University of California, Davisā€™ Hindi Film Dance Team, Lashkara, meaning the spark of light, is an intercollegiate competitive group that strongly values leadership, responsibility, and excellence both academically and on stage. Lashkara was started ten years ago, with the goals of creating lasting friendships, improving the dance skills of each team member, and maintaining a strong sense of South Asian pride on campus. Our performances incorporate jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, and Indian classical dance styles alongside energetic Bollywood choreography and captivating storylines.
