String Cheese Incident returns to Seattle this Sunday, and we're celebrating the Melty-Cheese connection by giving away some treasures from the Meltdown vault.

TO ENTER, tell us in the comments: What is your favorite Summer Meltdown Memory - or your favorite String Cheese Incident memory from Meltdown?

We'll randomly select 10 winners. Each winner will receive: A vintage Summer Meltdown poster - from the year SCI played Meltdown + a collectible Summer Meltdown pint cup.

This weekend filled my heart in a way I didn’t know I needed.

For the first time in years, I returned to Summer Meltdown’s home in Darrington! Not as a producer, but simply as a dad, a partner, a friend, and a member of this incredible community. Sharing that place with Elijah, Rose, and friends, and seeing the infamous Light Bright glow in the forest again brought back so many beautiful memories.

For 14 summers we put roots down and that land became home. It witnessed friendships becoming family, countless sunrises and late-night conversations, incredible music, unforgettable art, and moments that shaped so many of our lives.

I want to give huge props to the APOG Festival team. What you created this weekend was truly incredible. You honored that epic property while creating something uniquely your own. Well done👏

Leaving the mountain was bittersweet, but it reminded me that the spirit of this community is still very much alive.

Here’s to old memories, new traditions, and maybe someday… we’ll get another family reunion on that magical piece of land. ❤️

Dearest friends, 

It is with a heavy heart that we share an important update. Our recent negotiations with the Darrington Bluegrass Festival grounds board have come to an end, and we are no longer able to move forward with our Summer Solstice gathering at the Darrington site. 

The primary issue centered around the addition of Summer Meltdown producing a dedicated live music stage. Despite our good faith efforts to address concerns and find common ground, the board ultimately voted not to renew our June contract.

This comes as a devastating blow. We know how much anticipation was building within our community, and we were feeling that excitement alongside you.

We are currently looking at other venue opportunities, and will keep you informed as our plans take shape. We remain committed to this gathering, to the spirit behind it, and to all of you who make it what it is. Thank you for your support and understanding, we love you all and anticipate Cascadia NW coming back stronger than ever in the near future!
