While most seniors will be crossing the graduation stage next week, 308 senior Darragh Hallinan will be a bit busy training to perform on a BROADWAY stage! After winning the Stephen Sondheim Awards in May, Darragh is leaving this week for the The Jimmy Awards in New York to begin 10 days of training before he gets to perform on the stage of the Minskoff Theatre, sadly meaning that he will be missing the DHS graduation.

Darragh’s senior internship was directing our production of tick, tick… BOOM!, so following the closing performance, with the help of our principal, we held a surprise graduation celebration where he received his diploma surrounded by the community he’s helped inspire.

From directing a show to chasing a dream, we couldn’t be prouder. Congratulations Darragh on this incredible achievement!! we’ll be cheering you on at the Jimmys! 🎓⭐️🎭

Hi, I’m Hugh Winegar and I play the role of Michael. Michael is the supportive and concerned best friend of Jon, and is someone who at the end of the day wants what’s best for his friend. He walks a fine line of supportive and realistic that guides Jon to a better place. Their friendship is full of good times, hard moments, and is an amazing example of real palpable friendship.

Playing this role has been a treat. Not only does this show feature great songs where I’m able to have fun gallivanting around stage and showcasing emotion. Hanging out with Kellan everyday has been a treat, and being directed by my best friend has been a new and amazing learning experience. I hope you enjoy the show!!!

Hi!! I’m Kate Miller, and I play Susan in Theater 308’s production of Tick, Tick… Boom!
Susan is a dancer and the girlfriend of Jonathan Larson. I believe that her character serves as a reminder or the realities and compromises that sometimes come with pursuing your dreams. It’s been so much fun getting to explore her relationship with Jon and bringing her perspective to life, especially in the moments where she gets to stand up for what she wants and let her personality shine!
This whole rehearsal process has been such a unique and fun one, and it’s been one of the coolest experiences being able to perform outside in the courtyard!
I’m so grateful to be part of this production, and I’m excited for everyone to experience Tick, Tick… Boom! with us!
