At the Darien Arts Center, great arts education is supported by spaces that allow creativity to thrive.

From our Weatherstone Studio and black-box performance space, to our dedicated Dance Academy studios, expansive Visual Arts studio, and individual Music studios, our facilities are an essential part of the experience we provide to our community.

These spaces give our students more than a place to take a class. They provide opportunities to learn, create, rehearse, collaborate, perform, and grow — all within an environment designed to support artistic exploration at every age and level.

IMMERSE YOURSELF IN THE ARTS AT DAC

The Darien Arts Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing instruction in—and enjoyment of—the arts to those of all ages and experience levels. Each week, nearly 800 students join us for classes, and hundreds attend our special events and live performances. The Darien Arts Center Dance Academy offers a wide variety of classes for all ages and skill levels. In addition to serious ballet instruction, DACDA also offers professional instruction in Contemporary, Partnering, Lyrical, Broadway Jazz, Hip Hop, and Latin Ballroom, allowing our students to explore and excel in the full range of movement that dance has to offer.

Students train in one of the finest dance spaces in Fairfield County and have the unique opportunity to train with working professional dancers and participate in multiple performances throughout the year.

We also have Darien Arts Center Company, Apprentice and Trainee programs for those who want to focus on a pre-professional ballet and contemporary dance path. The Company and Apprentices perform four times a year in The Nutcracker, a student-produced performance, So We Think We Can Dance, the Mixed Rep Spring Program, where they explore neoclassical and contemporary styles and the end-of-year Spring Concert, which is school-wide and a masterful display of the plethora of styles DAC students are capable of.

A new season means new opportunities to create, move, learn, and grow. Whether you’re returning to something you love or ready to try something completely new, there’s a place for you at the DAC this fall.

DANCE
From our youngest dancers through adults, the DAC Dance Academy offers Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Broadway Jazz, Lyrical, Partnering, Latin Jazz and more — with opportunities for students looking for both recreational and pre-professional training.

MUSIC
Discover your sound through personalized instruction with professional musicians. Private lessons are available for children and adults in Piano, Voice, Guitar, Strings, Woodwinds, Brass, Drums and more, along with group class opportunities.

VISUAL ARTS
Draw. Paint. Create. Explore. Our Visual Arts program welcomes children, teens and adults of all experience levels, with classes and workshops in painting, drawing, mixed media, crafts, sculpture and more.

🎶 Fall Music Registration is Now Open at the Darien Arts Center! 🎶

Whether you’re just beginning your musical journey or looking to continue developing your skills, the DAC Music Department offers personalized instruction for children and adults in a welcoming and inspiring environment.

Our accomplished faculty provides one-on-one instruction that nurtures technique, creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of music. With foundations in both classical and jazz, students are encouraged to grow as unique artists while building lasting musical skills.

📅 Fall Semester: September 8, 2026 – January 16, 2027

New students can submit an inquiry through the registration portal, and the Music Department will help schedule the perfect lesson time. Returning students should contact their instructor and the Music Director directly.
