Ba****ck riding is built on grit, toughness, and a cowboy’s will to never back down. Dean Thompson has shown us exactly what that means, both in and out of the arena.

Right now, Dean is facing a battle far greater than any 8-second ride — a fight against cancer.

At the Darby Rodeo, we don’t just celebrate champions for what they do under the lights; we stand behind them for who they are when the lights go out.

Dean is one of the toughest competitors in our sport, but more importantly, he’s a son, a family man, a friend, and part of our rodeo family.

This is bigger than rodeo.
