Please don’t reach out via PM unless you have read this ad fully. We try hard to maintain a good selling and rehabbing reputation.
We are selling this 5 year old guy and his name is Dutton! He’s lovable, sweet, and a bit stubborn at times! He has been our main lesson horse for 2 years. He’s SAFE, SANE & SOUND!!! I feel like that statement deserves a few more exclamation marks. If you are looking for a beginner/intermediate horse who is safe for the kids, grandmas, and smaller husbands…this is your guy. If you are looking for a barrel horse, he’s NOT what you are looking for. STOP HERE. He doesn’t like barrels. He knows barrels, but he does NOT. LIKE. BARRELS. Yes, there is a difference. Please stop and read that again. He will do them because he is a people pleasing horse. He will take your kids around them, but he is NOT a competitive barrel horse. He never will be. His confirmation doesn’t support your need for running barrels, english, jumping, western pleasure or other strenuous disciplines. The videos of him running barrels are only to show you how he moves. The speed at which you are watching is about all he has to give or it’s at least all we expect anyone to ask him for. He’s a kids play day horse and a suitable trail boss. Im sure he may be really good at some things I’m unfamiliar with. He’s a safe animal for everyone in your family to play on. He will teach your kids to communicate effectively with an animal. He will take grandma safely thru the state park. He never balks at bridges or puddles, and he is non-reactive to just about anything. He will happily swim with you. He’s about 14.2 hands. Please calculate the safe weight range for his size before you try to put your heavy husband on him. He won’t hurt him, but he won’t do anything for him either. He will stand there and just do absolutely nothing and honestly, I would too. He demands and deserves respect. He loves to be loved on, gives absolutely the best hugs in the barn. He will eat anything you offer so, be careful “what” you offer. He has a huge personality, he paws while he eats, loves his food and based on where he came from, as a Mustang from Oregon, he was born conditioned to worry about where the next meal will come from, so who can blame him. We have had NO ISSUES WITH THIS HORSE. He is looking for his next home. It’s not his fault. He did nothing wrong. We are shifting gears in our lesson program and are looking for a horse more suited to what we intend to teach. He rides in a hackamore because I don’t like to have kids who are learning to ride pull on his mouth. He does take a bit just fine. Please PM for more information including additional videos, pictures, vet records, in person screening, ppe’s and pricing. He is priced accordingly, but we are open to offers. We are more interested in the right home than obtaining the right price. Thanks for your consideration.
