Riverside Lanes - Danville, VA Our Bowling Center is a quirky, sometimes loud, always fun place to be... and we serve some really yummy craft beer, too!

Riverside Lanes was built at its current location on Riverside Drive in Danville back in 1960. The original construction had 32 bowling lanes. In the late 1970's the building was expanded and 10 additional lanes were added ... making it one of the largest bowling centers in Virginia and North Carolina. In 1992 the business came under new ownership the name was changed to Country Club Lanes II and

operated until it closed in March 2006. In August 2006, the center was purchased by Kenneth & Brenda Parrish, Derrick & Laura Anderson and Dannie & Kathy Anderson they reopened the business on October 28, 2006 as the original Riverside Lanes! Riverside Lanes is now owned by the Powell family, and continues to provide the best bowling experience in all of Southside Virginia. 40 lanes, full service Snack Bar, and all major sports displayed on 4 15ft projection screens. Our services include Pro Shop, Birthday Parties, Group Events, Fundraising Events, and monthly competitive tournaments . For over 50 years, Riverside Lanes has been and continues to be the premier Family Entertainment Center and Competitive Bowling Facility of Southside!

The Philip Barton Memorial Tournament is about so much more than bowling. It is a day to remember a talented bowler, a loving father and a cherished member of our bowling community.

Most importantly, this tournament helps provide support for the three daughters Philip left behind.

🎙️ LADIES AND GENTLEMEN… OUR FIRST FRIDAY NIGHT KING OR QUEEN OF THE LANES DELIVERED! 👑🎳

Twenty-five bowlers stepped onto the lanes ready to battle the challenging 42-foot Kegel Gateway Arch pattern—and what a battle it was!

The scores climbed. The scores dropped. The lanes transitioned, and every frame demanded another adjustment. Some bowlers found the answer, while others watched the Gateway Arch slam the door!

After four qualifying games, only four remained:

🥇 Tyler Smith — 990
🥈 Bobby Thompson — 984
🥉 Art Cronce — 982
4️⃣ Beau Smith — 977

Then it was time for the stepladder finals!

🔥 MATCH ONE: ART CRONCE VS. BEAU SMITH

Art came out firing and posted 250, defeating Beau’s 188.

Art was moving on!

🔥 MATCH TWO: ART CRONCE VS. BOBBY THOMPSON

Bobby was next in line, but Art wasn’t finished! Art rolled 214, edging out Bobby’s 206.

Two matches down—and Art was headed to the championship!

👑 CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: ART CRONCE VS. TYLER SMITH

Tyler entered the finals as the tournament’s No. 1 seed, but Art had all the momentum!

When the final ball was thrown:

Tyler Smith — 189

Today marks a very special day for us — **it has officially been ONE YEAR since we closed on Strike House of Asheboro and began this journey!** ❤️

What a year it has been!

Over the past year, we have worked hard to make changes, improvements, and upgrades to the center, but more importantly, we hope we have made a positive impact on our **community**.

Every single person who has walked through our doors, bowled a game, joined a league, grabbed a bite to eat, enjoyed a cold drink, attended an event, or simply supported us along the way has been a part of our first year.
