*We have a (rather LONG, widely detailed) announcement to make*
Everyone that knows us and are a part of our
Work/Guest Community, know that transparency has always been one of our strong suites ❤️
We’ve always attempted to keep everyone as up to date (as humanly possible) on any issues/hardships we happen to run across within both Grizzly’s Hatchet House AND River City Escapes!
Honestly, the passed couple of years, not only for us personally, ALL small businesses, this goes with saying, but given a couple of reviews that were brought to our attention, I feel a couple of things need to be explained.
We, like the rest of the world were truly hit hard by Covid & it’s aftermath of STAFFING/LABOR/INFLATION DESTRUCTION 🙄🙄
It didn’t help much at all that we were only opened for a few months before the pandemic came through wreaking havoc😞
We do not expect anyone to understand the booking/staffing processes we are going to explain, so it’s only fair that we explain this in detail, so that there is a better understanding.
The advancement of technology in this day in time, is inevitable. (Personally, I’d much rather stick to pen & paper and my Golden Girls calendar on the office wall 🤣)
We would love nothing more than to have the capability to have multiple receptionists to answer each phone call the minute it comes in, seven days a week. Another who can respond to each email as soon as it’s received. Another to sit and respond to all of our social media accounts immediately. It simply is not possible anymore, given the staffing issues we are experiencing.
Therefore, we made sure our websites/social media automated responses cover most any question our guests may have, (FAQ for MANY additional questions) for them to personally complete the booking process for whatever day/time slot they were interested in booking!
We continue to see/hear comments saying our website welcomes walk-ins, and we do apologize for any misunderstanding, but it clearly states we do not. And I feel obligated to explain as to why.
When we FIRST opened, walk-ins were always welcome.
However, given the changes that have taken place the last couple of years, we simply can no longer pay hourly wages out to an employee, in hopes that groups will decide to walk in and want to do an escape room. We DID attempt to keep it that way for a while, but we very quickly came to the realization, we wouldn’t make it much longer at that rate.
We realize that having to go online and look through the FAQ tab for any questions and concerns you may have, and enter your contact information & other necessary information to be able to come in and experience our escape rooms, may not be ideal, but unfortunately, that is the required process and the only way to ensure your escape room experience.
Lastly, and I honestly hope no one takes this negatively, a businesses policies/procedures/safety protocols, etc., in no way, shape or form, equal BAD customer service.
