BIOGRAPHY
Healing Oppression thru Pure Entertainment (HOPE) uses entertainment as a form of therapy to bring about a healing to our oppressed people and the corresponding communities. Gospel, jazz, blues and hip-hop[e] are traditional arts birthed in the oppressive states that historically gave healing to its people. The healing powers of music have been presences since the beginning of times. There is H.O.P.E for our disenfranchised communities left in states of oppression. H.O.P.E’s use of hip-hop used from the 70s’ – 90s’ to bring light to those depressed is used once again. Instead of promoting the violence, selfish gains and ignorance that hip-hop is now known for HOPE instead uses this life music to spread messages of love, unity, hope and change.

Good morning, Danville.

We all got something we’re carrying. Some people just hide it better than others.

So today, choose kindness. Check on somebody. Encourage somebody. Speak life when you get the chance.

You never know how far one conversation, one smile, or one act of kindness can go.

We asked someone from our community what community and hope mean to them…

Their answer reminded us that hope looks different for everybody.

Now we want to hear from y’all…

What does HOPE mean to you?

🎤🔥 Music has a way of bringing people together… and these artists did exactly that.

Much love to every artist and our DJ who traveled to Hope Day and poured into our community.

Y’all didn’t just come to perform—you connected with people, encouraged the crowd, and used your gifts to bring hope through music. That’s something we never take for granted.

Thank you for making the trip, sharing your hearts, and always bringing excellence. Because of you, Hope Day was more than an event—it became an experience.

Y’all helped make our city feel the love. We appreciate every one of you. 💙🙌

Hope Day doesn’t happen without people willing to serve.

To every volunteer who showed up early, stayed late, carried boxes, passed out food, gave away school supplies, helped with the kids, and jumped in wherever they were needed… thank you.

Y’all showed up with love, and our community felt it.

A special shout-out to the Danville Police Department, especially Officer 😭. Taylor, for being there with us and helping make sure families could enjoy the day in a safe and positive environment.

We appreciate every one of y’all. Hope Day was better because of you. 💙🙌

Drop a 💙 in the comments and help us show some love to everyone who made Hope Day happen!

💈 Man… this right here is what it’s all about. 💙

To Donald Stamps, the team at Upper KUTTZ Barbershop coming out to serve—thank you.

You didn’t just give haircuts, you gave your time and talent to this community. Because of you, 30 people left Hope Day feeling confident, encouraged, and ready for the new school year.

Your willingness to put the community first is something we don’t take for granted. Thank you for believing in what we’re building and for helping make Hope Day a day these families won’t forget.

We appreciate you more than words can express. Much love to the entire UpperKuttz family. 💙💈
