Senior Spotlight: Maggie

Here is what Maggie wants to share about her time with NSDA:

“I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fully explain how much this studio means to me. What started as dance classes became my second home and all the people here became family. Dance gave me a place to show up to when I had a rough day or was anxious, It helped me find confidence I didn’t know I had and taught me so much more than just how to dance. It helped me grow into the person I am today. To my teachers, thank you for believing in me, pushing me, and always being there. To my friends, thank you for every laugh, every memory, and every moment that made this place so special. And especially for listening to all my stories. You guys truly are my people. Leaving is so bittersweet because this place has been such a huge part of my life for so long. It’s brought such a routine and as someone who loves to know the plan, knowing at the end of the day I had dance with the same group of girls brought a different kind of comfort. No matter where life takes me, I’ll always carry a piece of this studio with me. Thank you for being my safe place, my biggest support system, and my second home. I will miss it more than words can say. As you all probably assumed I did cry writing this and procrastinated sending it in because that made it more and more real. I love everything I’ve gained from North Shore Dance Academy.

Senior Spotlight: Madelyn

Here is what Madelyn wants to share about her time with NSDA:

“My time at NSDA has been filled with nothing but laughter, growth, and love. This form of art and community that I am so greatful to be apart of has taught me how to push myself beyond limits, believe in myself even when I wanted to give up, and what it really means to be a team player and leader. It was always more than just a “dance class.” Some days it was therapy sessions that were always able to make you feel less alone, other days it was belly laughs to the point where you couldn’t even hear the music. My most cherished memories in life are the ones I’ve made at this studio, or with the friends and teachers I’ve meet through NSDA. They both have shaped me into who I am today. To all my teachers, thank you for being like second mothers to me. I have learned so much from you whether it be about dance or life in general. I look up to you, and I’ll never be able to express how grateful I am for all the experiences, knowledge, and opportunities you’ve gifted me. To all of the beautiful friends I’ve made over the past 11 years, thank you for all the memories. The late night laughs on the Westin hotel floors and the hype up circles backstage, are only some of the special memories that will stay with me forever. I couldn’t have asked for better people to grow up with. NSDA will stay in my heart forever, and I am eternally grateful for what this studio and its community has brought to my life. No matter where life takes me, there is No Place I’d Rather Be. 🩵💚🩵💚”

Senior Spotlight: Sara

Here is what Sara wants to share about her time at NSDA:

“Growing up at NSDA has given me more than just years of dance, it’s given me a second home, lifelong memories, and a family who mean the world to me. Countless nights, long rehearsals, sore muscles, competition weekends, and moments both on and off the stage have shaped me into the person I am today. Through every challenge and win, my dance friends have been by my side, and I will forever be grateful for the love, laughter, and bond we share. Dance has always been a huge part of who I am, and I’m so excited my journey with dance doesn’t end here. As this chapter comes to a close, I realize the reason all these years have meant so much is because of the people I got to spend them with… and truly, there’s no place I’d rather be. 😊”

Senior Spotlight: Caroline

Here is what Caroline wants to share about her time at NSDA:

"I have been dancing at NSDA since I was 5 years old and has been a huge part of my life. I am so grateful to call it my second home. I will forever cherish the memories I have made there. From late night practice, going to competition, going out after performances, the laughs we have had, and cheering each other on all the way. NSDA has taught me what it is to work hard, be confident in who you are, and to find something that you love doing. I would like that thank all the teachers for pushing me, being there for me, and helping me form into the person I am today. To my amazing team, thank you for showing me what it is like to be on a team. I know you guys will always have my back as I move onto my next chapter. I will forever miss our ups and downs. I am great full that I am able to call you my sisters. Thank you NSDA for showing me my passion in life and keeping me happy"
