I was wondering the other night watching heifers and making a pad… just how much sheep goes into just one pulled wool pad. As it turns out it’s ONE WHOLE SHEEP!!!

These pads are awesome, I made one to test it out and I was absolutely amazed on a hard day, the kind where you know you need to stop and pull your saddle to save your horse but can’t stop, I got back to the trailer and pulled my saddle she had LESS SWEAT under the pad than the rest of her body. That was it for me.

I wasn’t happy with the way that it broke in though, I had made a lighter pad and there wasn’t much support left come fall. Now all Cowgals Hand pads are made for medium to heavy ranchin’ averaging 9 lbs in Merino, and 11 in Herdwick (my personal preference!)

Just think, you, your trusty steed, ankle biters, AND ONE WHOLE SHEEP so you’ll never get lonely in the great out there!!!

Just a little more info:

• Herdwick: better for durability, weight distribution, rough use (packing, long days) getting sticks crammed in there and removed later.
• Merino: better for softness, sweat wicking, lighter feel on the horse, looks “prettier”
