Meet a 2026 Honoree: Linda T. Hubbard Mary Rindfleisch Heart of the Arts Award

Long before it was an organization, the Sherman Artists Association was an idea — and Linda T. Hubbard was the one who made it real. As co-founder, she was instrumental at building a home for artists in Sherman. She spent years in volunteer leadership that nurtured arts and culture in the Sherman area, often working quietly behind the scenes to make sure creative work had a place to happen.

That's exactly what the Heart of the Arts Award exists to recognize, the people whose sustained, personal investment makes everything else possible.

We're not just supporting art that already exists, we're helping build what's next.

Right now we're deep in a feasibility study for a downtown Danbury Arts Hub: a real, physical home for artists and the community to create, connect, and gather. It's still taking shape, and every bit of support helps us keep shaping it.

This August, a $2.50 Community Bag at the Danbury Stop & Shop sends $1 our way — toward projects like this one, and everything else on our plate.

We. Together.

Every October, business leaders, artists, and neighbors from across Greater Danbury come together for one afternoon that captures what's possible when a community invests in itself, the Business Supports the Arts Awards Luncheon.

This year's event is more than a celebration. It's a chance to meet the people shaping arts and culture in our region, connect with fellow business leaders, and be part of something that outlasts the afternoon itself.

Join us Friday, October 9, 2026, at The Amber Room Colonnade in Danbury.

Reserve your seat, sponsor a table, or place a Digital Ad: cbo.io/app/public/bidapp/cawct

Meet our 2026 Business Supports the Arts honorees. 🎉

Every October, we pause to recognize people and businesses whose work embodies what happens when business and the arts show up for each other. This year's honorees are no exception:

🏆 Linda T. Hubbard — Mary Rindfleisch Heart of the Arts Award, for founding the Sherman Artists Association and years of transformative volunteer leadership that have nurtured arts and culture in the Sherman area

🏆 Cotton Candy Fabrics & Quilts — Arts Impact Life Award, for using quilting and fiber arts as a vehicle for creativity, connection, and community philanthropy

🏆 John Frey — Distinguished Cultural Leadership Recognition, for establishing Connecticut's Cultural Districts and decades of legislative leadership on behalf of the arts

🏆 Hildegard Grob — Distinguished Cultural Leadership Recognition, for 14 years transforming the Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center into a major regional cultural site

Join us in celebrating them at the Business Supports the Arts Awards Luncheon on October 9, featuring keynote speaker Fil Cerminara (F&M Electric), with special remarks from Honorary Chair Michelle McCabe (Connecticut Main Street Center).

With thanks to our top sponsors: Setaro Law Firm, Glori and Adam Norwitt, and RMedia, for making this year's event possible!
