Today we hosted our very first Artist Talk at Victoria Phillips Studio & Gallery alongside artist Alisha Morgan for her exhibition Refuse to Fade and it could not have been a more meaningful afternoon.

The talk was intentionally conversational, offering an intimate glimpse into Alisha’s practice, process, and the stories woven throughout her work. Hearing directly from the artist about her memories, resilience, and creative growth added such depth to the exhibition experience.

One of my greatest hopes for this space has always been to create room for meaningful conversations around art and community, and today felt like the beginning of that vision coming to life.

Daisies awaiting name by Alisha Morgan

Soft, light-filled daisies emerge against a stark black background, creating a striking contrast that feels both delicate and dramatic. The painting carries a quiet intensity — balancing tenderness with boldness in a way that immediately draws you in.

As part of Alisha’s current exhibition, the work remains “awaiting name,” inviting the viewer and future collector to participate in the final layer of the piece through interpretation and title.
